Full Moon Groove Celebrates El Dia de Los Muertos

Part of SoWisdom's mission is to develop the emotional, cultural and spiritual literacy of our multi-cultural, multi-spiritual community.

This Full Moon, So Wisdom Welcomes, Tzeltlal-Maya Artist, Maria Nichim, to celebrate the Mexican tradition of El Dia de Los Muertos as part of our Full Moon Groove Seasonal Celebration. Join us in this Celebration of Life, Death, Ancestry, Humility, Community & Creativity as we take a moment to reflect and connect with Los Muertos, those who came before, remembering our loved ones upon whose shoulders we stand. El Dia de Los Muertos helps us acknowledge and integrate the significance of Death in our Lives. In this time of earth upheaval and human loss, we will hold sacred space for and pay special tribute to those struggling with the loss of loved ones from the recent "natural" disasters from Mexico to Texas to Puerto Rico to the Caribbean to Costa Rica and beyond.

This Full Moon Groove, learn to make traditional Mexican ofrendas (calaveras/sugar skulls, papel picado, paper flowers), participate in a beautiful ceremony of remembering, bringing peace, giving thanks and paying tribute to Los Muertos, enjoy authentic Mexican foods and affirm the resilience of Life dancing to Afro Latin Rhythms under the light of a Full Moon.
